Edwin started dancing professionally at the age of 20 working as an instructor in Seattle, WA, and quickly his love for dance led him to become a successful ballroom dancing competitor in the American Rhythm style. Edwin trained with some of the world's most respected masters, such as Diana McDonald, Igor and Polina Pilipenchuk, Rosendo Fumero, Olga Foraponova, Kasia Kozak and Shirley Ballas. His unique style, commitment and passion earned him and his partner many outstanding accomplishments nationwide, including:
- 6+ time Professional Rising Star American Rhythm Champion including Hotlanta Dance Challenge, North American, Yankee Classic, Texas Challenge, Triple Crown, Virginia State Danceport Championshiops.
- Professional Open American Rhythm Champion at Cleveland DanceSport Championship
- 5+ time Professional Open American Rhyhm Finalist including North American, Yankee Classic, Virginia State and most recently at Holiday Dance Classic Dancesport Championships.
- World Professional Rising Star American Rhythm Finalist
- World Professional Open American Rhythm semifinalist
In 2007 Edwin moved to Las Vegas, NV, to become part of the new Ballroom Dancing portion of the critically acclaimed production "Le Reve" at the Wynn Las Vegas, created by Franco Dragone, with the ballroom dancing portion choreographed by Maksim Chmerkovskiy of Dancing With The Stars.
Today, Edwin continues to share his 10+ years of experience, dedication and commitment to the art and sport of ballroom dancing with students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to amateur and professional competitors, as well as performing in many shows and special events while continuing his career as a professional Open American Rhythm competitor.
